More than
200 friends and supporters of the
Children's Home Society of New Jersey,
an organization dedicated to saving the
lives of children and building healthy
families, recently gathered together at
its grand wine tasting fundraiser.
Proceeds from the event are earmarked
for the organization's direct services
and will enable the non-profit to continue
its mission to serve thousands of at risk
children and families each year in
NJ and Bucks County, PA.
“The wine tasting was a huge
success for us thanks to the generosity
of the attendees and the lead sponsor
and event organizer Mahesh Lekkal of
'Wine Legend' in Livingston, NJ,” said
Stacey Meisel, a member of the board
of directors for Children's Home Society
since 2003.
Last year, Meisel co chaired
the organization's annual gala
and will be again this year. She also
serves on the board's nominating and
advocacy committees. The festivities
included hundreds of different wines,
champagnes and three dozen single malt
scotches for tasting. The event was
held at The Manor in West Orange, NJ.
“Due to the overwhelming
response, we hope to make this an
annual event,” remarked Colleen
Gehring, director of special events for
Children's Home Society.
