The United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit has appointed Stacy Meisel of Montclair to its Merit Selection Committee.

The 11-member committee recommends candidates for a new bankruptcy judgeship in New Jersey. The judgeship, with a 14-year term, was created by the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005. The new bankruptcy judgeship will be the ninth for New Jersey. A founding partner of law firm Becker Meisel LLC of Livingston, Meisel specializes in bankruptcy law.
