Becker Meisel Attorneys Will Focus on Negotiating Purchase Agreements and Handling Land Use-Related Litigation
EDISON, N.J., Sept. 13, 2007 – Ivan Kaplan, Esq., of counsel with the Livingston, N.J.-based Becker Meisel LLC and Michael Elward, Esq., an associate with the full-service law firm, will speak at Lorman’s “Real Estate Development From Beginning to End” seminar on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007. The event is being held at the Clarion Hotel & Towers in Edison, N.J., from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Kaplan and Elward are members of Becker Meisel’s real estate finance, investment and development group.
For more than 15 years, Kaplan has been active in both corporate law and commercial law, including real estate. In his “Negotiating the Purchase Agreement” program, he will address key elements that both buyers and sellers need to know. His lecture will focus on letter of intents, title reports and representations and warranties as well as damages and protections and feature an interactive break-out session.
Elward possesses broad expertise in the area of land use. In his “Land Use – Prerogative Writ Actions” lecture, Elward will discuss all aspects of prerogative writ actions in land use related matters, including the procedural aspects of filing a complaint, establishing the record, and how to deal with planning boards as well as zoning boards of adjustment. His program will feature recent land use cases in New Jersey to illustrate his points and include a Q&A session.
