RETIRED NJ SUPREME COURT JUSTICE DANIEL J. O’HERN SPEAKS AT MONMOUTH UNIVERSITY’S SEMINAR ON LEADERSHIP AND PUBLIC ETHICS

 

Little Silver Resident Now Focuses on Appellate Practice, Trial Practice, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Mediation at Becker Meisel LLC

LIVINGSTON, N.J., June 5, 2008 – Retired New Jersey Supreme Court Justice Daniel J. O’Hern, special counsel to the Livingston, N.J.-based Becker Meisel LLC, recently spoke at the "Seminar on Leadership and Public Ethics." The well-attended event was presented by Monmouth University in cooperation with the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office. O’Hern, who resides in Little Silver, N.J., has a rich history of public service at the municipal and state level including his 19 years on the Supreme Court.

At the seminar, O'Hern served on the "Maintaining Honest and Accountable Government at All Levels" panel with former State Senator Ellen Karcher and Assemblywoman Amy Handlin as well as Patrick Murray, the director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute. O'Hern discussed his many experiences and leadership role in ethics reform at the executive level. Christopher J. Christie, U.S. Attorney, District of N.J., was the keynote speaker at this event, which was open to all state and local elected and appointed public officials.

As special counsel to Becker Meisel, O'Hern concentrates on appellate practice, trial practice, alternative dispute resolution and mediation. In recognition of his longstanding dedication to the New Jersey legal system, he was honored with the 2007 Medal of Honor Award by the New Jersey State Bar Foundation (NJSBF) at the end of last year.
